Monthly Games – August 2017

0

Let’s take a look at the games available for PlayStation Plus, Xbox Live Gold and Humble Bundle in August 2017. What’s coming to your library this time?

PS Plus Games for August 2017

Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry (PS4)
Just Cause 3 (PS4)
Snakeball (PS3)
Super Motherload (PS3)
Downwell (Vita)
Level 22 (Vita)

OPINIONS

It’s about time we got a good selection of monthly PlayStation games! Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry is a standalone version of Black Flag, which is probably one of the best-regarded games in the entire franchise. This’ll be a great addition ahead of Talk Like A Pirate Day in September 🙂 Just Cause 3 is always great for a bit of explosive chaos (I played this at EGX Rezzed earlier this year), although I usually get bored before finishing the story of a Just Cause game. The other game worth mentioning here is Downwell on Vita. The game is simple but awesome and I think it’ll be a great addition to my Vita library.

Xbox Live Gold Games for August 2017

Slime Rancher (XB1)
Trials Fusion (XB1)
Bayonetta (X360)
Red Faction: Armageddon (X360)

OPINIONS

A good month for Xbox Live Gold members too! Slime Rancher (I think still an Early Access game) is apparently good fun, although I haven’t played it myself. The Trials games are always fun, so Trials Fusion will be a good one for anyone who wants to challenge their 2D motocross skills.

Humble Monthly Bundle for August 2017

Killing Floor 2

OPINIONS

Although maybe not the strongest PC game around, Killing Floor 2 is a rock solid shooter. I played and enjoyed the original and I’ve heard great things about the sequel. Definitely worth checking out.

When Can You Get Them?

Each of these services releases at different times so it’s hard to track them accurately. The PS Plus games always drop on the first Tuesday of the month. Xbox Live Gold tends to stagger the release through the whole month and the Humble Monthly Bundle usually activates around the middle. I hope my opinions have helped you work out which you’re going to play first!
